The Academic Coaching Manager provides day-to-day direction and leadership for the academic coaching programs. This role is responsible for coordinating program activities, supervising staff, managing student communication and outreach, and implementing program initiatives that support student retention, persistence and academic success within established institutional and program goals.
Academic coaching applies an asset-based lens to strengthen existing student strengths and adapt evidence-based academic skills to help students move through their university experience.
This role requires a highly organized, motivated individual with a bias to action and excellent capacity to coordinate multiple efforts at one time. The coaching manager makes timely decisions to ensure execution of program priorities and next steps.
Serving as a primary point of contact, this role supports academic coaches during their time embedded the college student success teams, as well as when centrally located. Additional coordination between the following student cohorts and coaching staff include but are not limited to: admitted by exception, late admission, readmitted students, and sponsored scholar cohorts. The person in this role plans for and reports on coaching outcomes to the university and scholar sponsors. Point of contact and coordination with scholar cohorts can include teaching responsibilities.
Supervising a three-member coaching team and graduate assistants, this role supports coaches in leveraging key dashboards to proactively identify and assist students. The coaching manager advances the professional development of the team by applying existing and emerging strategies that promote student retention and academic success. It also provides clarity to the coaches and college success teams by aligning roles and expectations for their collaborations. Additionally, the role will establish processes for using leading indicator data to prompt timely outreach, address barriers to success and connect students with appropriate campus resources.
About the Program: Academic coaching utilizes an individual, goal based coaching cycle where students self- identify areas of academic need to focus on during one-on-one meetings. The academic coaching team works across a wide range of socioeconomic, cultural and geographic student backgrounds.

This position is On-site. 5 days per week
