About This Role

This position will be responsible for working with the procurement officer 1 and procurement assistant currently employed. This person will manage our inventory and procurement for CVM-East being the primary person; the VDL is separated into multiple buildings (CVM-East, Mosier Hall, and Trotter Hall). These tasks will require this individual to order specialized and complex goods and services such as unique test kit reagents that may require permits, specialized equipment, etc. This individual will assist with the Mosier inventory and procurement system, which will include receiving incoming supply orders, completing received product counts, scanning product bar codes, record keeping, and shelving products in their proper location(s). At CVM-east and assisting in Mosier hall, this person will review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, prepares bid specifications, issues bid requests and reviews quotations. The person in this position will also be required to be a back-up for ordering supply products, including CO2 gas tanks. Other duties include product-supply collection and delivery to each necessary laboratory section, located in three separate buildings, to assure that each section has the needed products for all there testing requirements. This position will also be a back-up for sterile processing for KVDL.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science
• Experience/education in the field of Animal Science and corresponding vocabulary and physiology
• Procurement and inventory experience

Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:

• Valid Driver's License
