The Pre-Professional & Exploratory Advising Center is seeking a recruitment coordinator. The recruitment coordinator will help connect prospective students with opportunities to explore their academic and career interests at K-State. About This Role

The Recruitment Coordinator will help connect prospective students with opportunities to explore their academic and career interests at K-State. This role will lead recruitment and outreach efforts, build relationships with prospective students and families, collaborate with campus partners, and help tell the story of the Pre-Professional and Exploratory Advising Center. The Center provides specialized advising to all students, serving prospective students, current students, and alumni on how to productively explore their academic options and achieve their health and law professional-school goals.

The Pre-Professional and Exploratory Advising Center helps students explore majors, prepare for professional programs, and make confident academic and career decisions. Located in the Berney Family Welcome Center, we guide students to align their strengths and goals for success at K-State and beyond.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site. 5 days per week

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Four years of relevant experience.
  • Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, academic advising or a health field
  • Knowledge of academic advising theories
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in academic advising
  • 2-5 years in undergraduate or professional school admissions
  • Experience planning events and travel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology (i.e. Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, customer relationship manager software) and efficient use of e-mail.
  • Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency

    Skills and Knowledge:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of competitive health profession and law school application processes.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Positive, student-centered educational philosophy.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Be highly motivated and demonstrate initiative.
    • Reliable and accurate in performing everyday tasks.
    • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Ability to travel and work some evenings and limited weekends, as necessary.
