About This Role

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Associate. The purpose of this position is to strengthen and enhance teaching, research and training programs of the Center for Outcomes Research and Epidemiology (CORE). Also, to support the advancement of our growing research group.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a master's degree and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in epidemiology, animal science, biostatistics, or a related field.
  • Research experience in population health, health economics, quantitative methods, and livestock health/performance.
  • Analysis of population data.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in risk analysis.
  • Experience with management of data to be analyzed (including data entry and data cleaning).
  • Documented skills in study design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of data/results.
  • Ability to contribute to grant writing and other mechanisms of developing research funding.
  • Communications with students and staff with various backgrounds.
  • Good collaborative skills.
  • Experience in animal population health systems, large-scale population databases for animal health and economic decision making, and knowledge and applied expertise in experimental, observational, and synthesis research methods.
