About This Role

The Louthan lab at Kansas State University is looking for a full-time research technician, with the position renewable for up to five years (contingent on performance). We are a population ecology lab focused on herbivore and climate effects on plant populations; current work includes large mammal herbivory and climate effects on plant demography. We work in multiple systems, including Konza Prairie, North Carolina, and East Africa.

In addition, they will help establish and maintain field experiments, and train and mentor undergraduate technicians and Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) students. Responsibilities also include maintaining a welcoming research environment, assisting with purchasing and budgeting, and facilitating field and lab logistics and communication. This would be an excellent position for a post-baccalaureate student who is interested in learning more about project management, establishment of large-scale field experiments, or mentoring.
