About This Role

K-State's Office of Student Financial Assistance within the Enrollment Management division seeks individuals to apply for the Scholarship Coordinator position. This position serves as the primary individual tasked with managing the awarding of scholarships through funds sourced by the K-State Foundation. Close collaboration and communication with the scholarship administrators within the colleges & departments is essential as scholarship offers are made centrally by the University as well as de-centrally by the colleges/departments. The incumbent will serve as the primary person responsible for managing the use and development of the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN), which leverages Blackbaud's Award Management system.  In addition to the day-to-day administration, the position works to improve processing efficiencies by developing integrations between KSN and other university student systems, such as Oracle Campus Solutions (branded as K-State Student Information System (KSIS)) and the university’s Customer Relations Management, student recruitment system. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Serves as the Office of Student Financial Assistance’s in-house expert in the delivered functionality provided by KSN and provides leadership in facilitating enhanced integration between KSN and the K-State Student Information System (KSIS).
  • In collaboration with university staff, develops/tests system enhancements that foster further integration between KSN and other university student systems such as the K-State Student Information System (KSIS) and the university’s Customer Relations Management system.
  • Serves as the key liaison between the Office of Student Financial Assistance in providing support and end-user training to scholarship administrators across the university’s colleges and departmental units in support of enrollment management objectives.
  • Collaborates with colleges/departments in establishing academy-wide scholarship awarding timelines in sync with higher education enrollment management best practices.
  • Counsels prospective as well as continuing students on scholarship opportunities available at the university.
  • Responds (in-person, phone, or electronic communication) to inquiries regarding KSN navigation and availability by prospective and continuing students.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One to three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in performing accounting tasks such as reconciliation
  • 2 – 3 years experience utilizing a third party, higher education student information system such as, Banner, PeopleSoft, Powerfaids, etc. .
  • Strong track record of collaboratively working across business units toward common, mission critical outcomes.
  • Prefer customer service experience requiring ability to detail/explain complex regulatory/policy rules in an administrative/office setting.
  • Prefer 1 - 2 years providing training and/or presentations to small – medium size audiences
  • Prefer experience designing, testing, and creating business reports and/or experience extracting data utilizing query or crystal reports.
  • Prefer exposure to a large post-secondary educational institution as an employee or student.
  • Prefer 1 – 2 years robust understanding and application of federal, Title IV, student financial aid regulations

Other Requirements:

  •  Individual may not be in default on a federal student loan and/or owe an
    overpayment on a federal student aid grant – to ensure that the individual may be
    issued access to various student aid databases by the U.S. Department of
    Education essential to completing tasks associated with this position.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
