About This Role

Kansas State University and the College of Agriculture seeks a student-centered Student Engagement and Services Coordinator. The Student Engagement and Service Coordinator provides essential administrative support within the academic student services function. Utilizing a comprehensive understanding of institutional programs, procedures, and policies, this role assists current and prospective students, parents, and faculty with a variety of inquiries and topics. Key responsibilities include managing student records, facilitating prospective student visits, supporting departmental student organizations, and coordinating internship opportunities. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate, develop, facilitate and/or support student engagement opportunities/events in the department and college.
  • Creating and implementing targeted marketing campaigns to promote events and programs across campus.
  • Work closely with orientation instructors to enhance new student engagement with the department, college, and university.
  • Coordinate social media postings with department and college level communications and recruiting staff.
  • Coordinate the college’s commencement program and graduating senior awards ceremony.
  • Develop social media content from student engagement activities and events.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of engagement programs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of programs, procedures, and policies to provide efficient administrative assistance within the academic student services function, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to coordinate internship opportunities for students.
  • Track and maintain records of student internships and co-op placements and assist with related administrative tasks.
  • Respond to inquiries from current and prospective students and family members via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Provide administrative assistance to faculty in support of departmental student organizations.
  • Support planning, organization and execution of student organization events and meetings.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience developing social media content.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting. 
  • Familiarity with enrollment management systems and student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft). 
  • Experience handling student records and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Problem-solving skills and a student-centered approach to service delivery.
  • Knowledge of FERPA regulations and best practices in academic record management.
  • A commitment to fostering a student-centered environment.
