This position serves in tandem with one other Federal Programs Administrator in administering and managing Kansas State University’s successful participation in the multi-million dollar Title IV, Federal Direct Loan and the Federal Pell Grant programs. In addition to carrying out all day-to-day, time sensitive processing requirements, the incumbent ensures that the Office of Student Financial Assistance meets the U.S. Department of Education’s regulatory requirements as they pertain to student eligibility, cash management, and consumer disclosures. The incumbent supports the office’s overall customer service mission in providing training to staff and to other university support centers such as K-State’s Wildcat One Stop. The position requires a high degree of collaboration with the university’s administrative and academic unit staff throughout the day. The position incorporates regulatory and/or policy changes into the office’s policy & procedures manual as well as updating pertinent sections on the OSFA website. Attention to detail is absolutely essential since the position is tasked with accurately reconciling all federal student loan and Pell Grant transactions in compliance with published deadlines. Additionally, this position will carry out tasks associated with the awarding, delivery, and reconciliation of two additional, non-federal loan programs utilized at Kansas State University - the Title VII Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL) and non-federal, commercially sourced, educational loans.
The staff members in the Office of Student Financial Assistance serve students and their families at every step of the journey while at Kansas State University to guide students through the scholarship and financial aid process.
