About This Role

This position is responsible for assessing for referral to short term individual, couple, and group therapy; conducting initial assessments, intakes, and crisis sessions, providing referrals and bridging care to the community as needed; consulting with students, faculty, and staff regarding mental health issues; and other tasks as requested by the Executive Director. Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required.
This is a 9-month (summers off) appointment.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work or a related field, and one year of relevant experience.
  • Must meet state licensure requirements to practice independently.

The degree requirement ensures candidates possess advanced clinical training and qualifications to provide professional care, meet legal standards and support the emotional well-being of campus populations. These competencies are typically developed and rigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and intensive experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year post-graduate experience in the mental health field providing individual therapy.
  • Experience in a university counseling center.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
