About This Role: |
The Extension Nutrition Program, within K-State Research and Extension, is currently seeking two full-time Extension Nutrition Assistants. The extension nutrition assistant will provide nutrition education to low-resourced families with young children and youth to support the goals of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). This position provides nutrition education to enrolled families and youth and tailors the content to the needs of each client. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively recruit and retain program participants and develop collaborative partnerships with community agencies. The extension nutrition assistant reports to the Wildcat District EFNEP and SNAP-Ed extension agent.

This appointment is a limited-term position and is contingent upon the continuing availability of funding and the need for these services. Term ends June 8, 2024. |
Location and Worksite Options: |
These positions will serve the Wildcat District area. The district has offices in Altamont, Fredonia, Girard, Independence, and Pittsburg, KS. The primary office for both positions is in Altamont. These educators will primarily serve Labette and Montgomery counties, providing assistance in the rest of the district when necessary. Regular travel to various sites within Wildcat District is required, along with occasional overnight travel for trainings (approximately 3-4 times per year).
This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment locations. |
