About This Role:

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Calvo Research Group (https://www.calvoresearchgroup.com/) in the Department of Chemistry at Kansas State University.  The lab designs and develops polymeric materials to address biomedical and environmental challenges. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields at the time of appointment.  The goal of this project is to develop novel polymeric delivery systems for drugs, vaccines, and other biologically relevant molecules. This will include the preparation of various functionalized polymers and block-copolymers, polymer characterization, encapsulation of cargo, and release studies. Candidates must have some experience in polymer synthesis and characterization.  Prior experience with drug delivery systems or stimuli-responsive polymers is preferred but not required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering (or related fields)
  • Polymer synthesis and polymer characterization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Drug delivery, stimuli-responsive polymers, experience with instruments including DLS, SEC/GPC, NMR, UV/VIS
