Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Pharmacology in Manhattan, Kansas
The Department of Anatomy and Physiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University is seeking a pharmacology faculty member (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This is a full-time position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The position is available as (1) a research and teaching appointment (tenure-track/tenured) or (2) a primarily teaching appointment (clinical-track) and may be a 9- or 12-month position based on the applicant. The candidate will be expected to teach pharmacology in the graduate and professional curriculums, and contribute to the service mission of the Department, College, and University. Specific teaching requirements will be tailored to the expertise of the applicant and the needs of the College but it is anticipated that the teaching appointment for this position will be a minimum of 40% for tenure-track and 70% for clinical track. Applicants with the ability to teach additional related biomedical topics, including physiology, are especially desirable. The overall originality and promise of a candidate’s research will be prioritized rather than the candidate’s area of specialization within pharmacology or related fields for tenure-track/tenured candidates. As part of their duties, a tenure-track or tenured candidate will be expected to mentor and train graduate and professional students in an area of the candidate’s expertise and establish and maintain an independent, dynamic, extramurally-funded research program. The Wildcat District proudly serves the 98,000+ residents of Crawford, Montgomery, Labette, and Wilson counties. We work with community partners in each county to determine needs and deliver research-based information related to agriculture, natural resources, youth development, families, health, wellness, community vitality, and more. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to horticulture. Programming may include but is not limited to: horticultural crop production, marketing, and economics; horticultural waste management; landscape maintenance and improvement; and conservation of natural resources.
