About This Role:

The Kansas State University Division of Communications and Marketing seeks its next creative and talented Video Producer. Kansas State University is a land-grant university with a student population of nearly 20,000, with additional campuses located in Salina and Olathe, Kansas. The main campus, located in Manhattan, Kansas, resides in a vibrant community of 56,000 located in the scenic Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas, just two hours west of Kansas City.

The Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) provides strategic communications and marketing leadership for Kansas State University. Our results-oriented team of experienced and talented professionals is responsible for helping the university to communicate with one voice on all three campuses, statewide, nationally and worldwide, in deeply-rooted support of the university’s mission and values.

The successful Video Producer candidate will:

  • Produce, record and edit recruitment and marketing videos for distribution on television, web and social media.
  • Consult with clients to develop video treatments, strategies, timelines and budgets.
  • Assist other video producers as needed.
  • Manage studio and location video recordings.
  • Maintain and operate audio, video and lighting equipment.
  • Manage and organize media assets and archiving.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree and three years of relevant experience.
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Certificate in video or media production.
  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in video producing, videography and non-linear editing.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience creating and monitoring video production timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated excellent aesthetic judgement.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience with client-based video production.
  • Experience in higher education environment.
  • Live multi-camera production experience.
  • Video scriptwriting experience.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro experience.
  • Adobe After Effects experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop experience.
  • Location audio and lighting experience.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
