About This Role:

The successful candidate will participate as an engaged team member in various cleaning and maintenance repair activities. These include:

• Performs heavy industrial “ceiling to floor’ cleaning in vacant Jardine Apartments, meeting spaces, offices, and classrooms. Properly uses cleaning chemicals and disinfectant products.  Removes trash, vacuums, dusts, mops, and disinfects surfaces and fixtures. Participates in deep cleaning of facilities.

• Maintains attractive surroundings by picking up litter and debris, cleaning outdoor stairwells, handrails, landings, sidewalks and commons areas. Removes snow, spreads salt and sand on stairs and sidewalks too provide safe travel areas.

• Provide hotel type housekeeping services for conference groups and other guests.
• Uses, organizes, and maintains tools and equipment. Makes minor repairs to equipment.

• Completes other duties as assigned to include, but not limited to, participate in training sessions and workshops; clean other areas or fill in for absent employees; serve as a “lead” employee or “fill-in” custodial specialist.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• No minimum requirements.
• Various training and/or certification may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Custodial experience that includes knowledge of commercial/industrial cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in custodial work and their use of application.
• Ability to make basic repairs, perform basic maintenance tasks.

$12.79 - $14.00 per hour
