About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Pharmacist to join our dedicated team to provide exemplary patient care and customer service. While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, the primary responsibility is overseeing dispensary operations to ensure efficiency. Pharmacists in this role will perform daily tasks such as verifying prescriptions, engaging with students, and maintaining dispensary logs and inventories. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical experience dispensing veterinary pharmaceuticals.
  • Clinical experience in a teaching hospital environment.
  • Experience in preparation and dispensing chemotherapy.
  • Training in compounding (USP 795, USP 797, and USP 800).
  • Two years of working experience.
  • Preceptor designation with the Kansas Board of Pharmacy.
  • Previous experience/success precepting students.
  • Ability to operate office machines: fax and phones.
  • Computer knowledge including email, Vetstar, Dymo labels, and Microsoft Office.

Other Requirements:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with Kansas Board of Pharmacy.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
