About This Role:

The Graduate School is seeking a full-time communications and marketing specialist. The communications and marketing specialist provides support to all aspects of Graduate School operations.

Responsibilities:

•Develop and maintain communication strategies for the Graduate School

•Produce and distribute the Graduate School e-newsletter and other written communications with from the Graduate School to university constituents

•Coordinate and manage all digital (e.g., email, web, social media), and print communications and marketing for the Graduate School

•Maintain and develop new components for the Graduate School website

•Provide support to the Dean with developing communication with alumni and to support fundraising

•Collaborate with other units in the Graduate School to support student success, recruitment, admission, and retention

•Coordinate with Graduate School administrative team, KSU Division of Communications and Marketing, and graduate program directors to increase use of social media/web in department/KSU recruitment activities

•In coordination with academic units’ communication strategies, develop and implement marketing strategies that are aligned with the KSU Division of Communications and Marketing practices

•Provide communications and marketing support to the Graduate Student Council

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in area of marketing, communications, professional writing, or related fields
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Web editing experience
  • Two years’ experience providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program, or organizational unit.
  • Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Experience using social media programs.
  • Strong knowledge of communication and marketing design principles
  • Experience with design software such as the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Administrative experience in a university and with graduate education.
  • Project management experience
  • Proactive and ability to anticipate needs of the organization.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively. 

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$19.90 - $25.37 Hourly
