About This Role:

The KSU Soybean Breeding program is looking for a temporary Research Technician to support field, greenhouse and laboratory research activities. Duties include seed processing, planting, plot management, data collection and harvest of soybean varieties.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Agronomy or related field.
  • Experience conducting agricultural research with small plot equipment and experience in U.S. production agriculture.

Other Requirements:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently when needed.
  • Ability to record field and greenhouse observations with a handheld computer.
  • Ability to work extended hours/weekends and overnight trips to off-site locations during peak periods, especially during planting and harvesting.
  • Able to do physical lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and work in varying environments (heat, cold, wind, etc.) and be able to walk through field and greenhouse bays to conduct research.
  • Valid driver’s license upon employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
