About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Large Animal Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. Primary purpose is to provide technical assistance services required for providing quality veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients presented to the equine, livestock services, and field service department(s). This position is also responsible for monitoring 4th year veterinary students and entering information into the electronic medical records system. Stocking and cleanliness of the large animal barn. Working hours for this position will include Thursday – Saturday 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of relevant large animal handling and experience in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
• Position frequently involves medium work. It is occasionally necessary to perform heavy work associated with lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling distressed animals in close quarters, and/or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
