About This Role:

The Physician Assistant (PA) Program, within the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS), is looking to hire an Academic Program Specialist to join their team. This position will assist the PA Program’s Academic Director in managing the direction, structure, and organization of the didactic year, including helping first-year students during the didactic year and coordinating didactic phase materials between faculty and students. This position will report to the Academic Director.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist faculty with online examination preparation, presentation, and record-keeping of grades
  • Meet regularly with faculty to facilitate and assist with the creation and management of PowerPoint presentations and online quizzes, and ensure classroom equipment is accessible and in working condition
  • Assist in the maintenance of the K-State PA Program grade book and other modalities associated with the ongoing evaluation and documentation of student progress and achievement
  • Work with the academic director to ensure all syllabi, course planning documents, and semester schedules are completed promptly
  • Assist the program director in continuous program self-assessment and ARC-PA compliance as it pertains to the didactic year of the PA Program
  • Facilitate scheduling of student advising during didactic year, and monitor for and respond to all direct student communication
  • Oversee the administration, development, and maintenance of websites related to the didactic year
  • Assist in coordinating, design planning, scheduling, recommendations for change, and monitoring of classroom materials and their display on faculty-student websites
  • Train to proficiency in PA Program educational software, including Exammaster, Canvas, and simulation and Anatomage tables
  • Coordinate all aspects of Exammaster, ensuring students and faculty are trained in its use
  • Serve as a proctor for program examinations, including Exammaster and PAEA
  • Participate in the program’s job sharing/training initiative to become familiar with clinical coordinator and admissions responsibilities
  • Serve as a Standardized Patient to facilitate clinical training of students in the Physical Diagnosis course

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Four years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Administrative experience in education or healthcare
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Self-starter that works well with little supervision
  • Ability to multitask, gather data and prepare reports
  • Knowledge of configuration and use of computerized database programs
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$18.00 - $27.00/hour
