Kansas Forest Service is hiring a full-time District Community Forester position for the southeast district of the Community Forestry Program. The position supports the Community Forestry Program by assisting communities in planning, managing, education/outreach and developing tree resources to improve environmental, economic, ecological, social, beautification and recreational benefits. Responsibilities include: • Providing community forestry technical assistance to communities and partners of the southeast district. • Planning, developing, and conducting a balanced full-service forestry program to meet the needs of the resource and communities in a positive and professional manner. • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with federal, state and local agencies, and organizations on forestry related programs. Incumbent delivers community forestry services with limited direct supervision. Approximately 50% of the time will be spent in the field, travel is routine with occasional overnight travel for special duties and training. Work may need to be done in inclement weather on occasion. This position is located within the Southeast Community Forestry District in Haysville, KS.

The Department of Horticulture & Natural Resources at Kansas State University is recruiting an Instructor/Teaching Assistant Professor to contribute to undergraduate education in Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management (WOEM). This position will be a 12-month appointment and will be divided among teaching (80%) and research (20%) activities. Natural resources conservation and management in the United States is largely funded by activities centered around hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. The WOEM program in the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources at K-State is a unique discipline that trains undergraduate students to be leaders in the outdoor industry (e.g., hunting and fishing operations, shooting sports management, and/or habitat management enterprises) while also providing science-based instruction in applied natural resources management. Our graduates use their combined training in natural resources management and business/entrepreneurship to become leaders in the outdoor industry, non-profit organizations, and state and federal agencies.

The Eastern Kansas Research and Extension Centers at Kansas State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor, Extension Agronomist to lead an active and innovative extension education and applied research program to support counties in the Southeast region of Kansas, focusing on agronomic crop production and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of Extension specialists and research scientists. Tenure home for this position will be in the Department of Agronomy. The successful candidate will investigate forages and cropping systems for the region, collaborate with other subject matter disciplines at the regional and state level, and meet expectations of extension-related scholarship and applied research. The candidate filling this position is responsible for providing leadership for Extension educational programs in forages, field crops, precision agriculture tools/techniques, soils, and weed management in Southeast Kansas. The Department of Anatomy and Physiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University is seeking a pharmacology faculty member (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This is a full-time position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The position is available as (1) a research and teaching appointment (tenure-track/tenured) or (2) a primarily teaching appointment (clinical-track) and may be a 9- or 12-month position based on the applicant. The candidate will be expected to teach pharmacology in the graduate and professional curriculums, and contribute to the service mission of the Department, College, and University. Specific teaching requirements will be tailored to the expertise of the applicant and the needs of the College but it is anticipated that the teaching appointment for this position will be a minimum of 40% for tenure-track and 70% for clinical track. Applicants with the ability to teach additional related biomedical topics, including physiology, are especially desirable.
