About This Role:

The Office of Recruitment and Admissions is seeking an Events Coordinator who will manage recruitment events that facilitate the application and enrollment of new undergraduates. Main responsibilities include:

  • Planning, organizing and executing virtual and in person events (on-campus and off-campus events) for prospective students and their families, educators and other partners.
  • Strong collaboration, coordination and communication with those who are vital to program delivery such as other ORA staff members, academic college staff and faculty, student affairs departments, and campus facilities. 
  • Oversee the long-standing K-State Open House campus-wide event by chairing the planning committee of professional staff, student volunteers, and serving as the primary liaison with a high level of communication among campus and community partners.
  • Monitor event data through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and use this information to develop strategies, assess program effectiveness, and conduct yield analysis, in order to make recommendations to the university leadership about program changes and improvements.

A successfull coordinator enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. Necessary skills include attention to detail, project management, and ability to lead collaborative relationships with campus and community partners. 

This position will be housed in the Berney Family Welcome Center – an $18 million dollar University facility. It is the premier location for prospective students, families, current students, employers, donors, alumni, and community members. In addition, this position is eligible for a hybrid remote work agreement allowing for a combination of working in the office and working remotely.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in higher education.
  • Master’s Degree in student personnel administration, higher education or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Strong social and communication skills and the ability to engage with others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with donors and sponsors of special projects.
  • Possess a high energy level and be able to work under strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and multiple computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, customer relationship manager software), and efficient use of e-mail.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license upon employment
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

 $40,576- $51,729 annually
