About This Role:

The College of Business Deans Department at Kansas State University is seeking a dynamic and creative Public Information Officer to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in planning, developing, and implementing strategic communication plans and platforms to enhance awareness and support recruitment efforts for both undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the College of Business. Join us in showcasing the vibrant community, innovative programs, and impactful initiatives of the College of Business to prospective students, alumni, and the broader community through engaging social media content and compelling video storytelling.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience.
  • This position may use an education equivalency as determined relevant by the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in multimedia production, strategic communication planning, and implementation, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
  • Expertise in social media platforms and trends, with experience in managing social media accounts for organizations or brands.
  • Strong creative vision and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual content. 
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans. 
  • Experience with social media advertising. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Passion for higher education and a commitment to promoting the mission and values of the College of Business at Kansas State University. 
  • Commitment to understanding one's own experiences and perspectives as well as the experiences and perspectives of diverse others in an effort to cultivate strong relationships and collaboration.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
