About This Role

The Accountant l will provide direct accounting support to the Shared Services Business Manager and collaborate with other accountants on the Shared Services team. The position is responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, posting entries in the accounting system, assisting faculty and staff with accounting inquiries, and managing the Shared Services portal in coordination with SSC team members.

Worksite Description

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in professional accounting/auditing work.
  • Experience in grant administration.
  • Experience working in computer based accounting system.
  • Working knowledge of an accounting program, preferably MIP, and of Windows/ Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with the State of Kansas and Kansas State University policies and procedures regarding grant expenditure and revenue.
  • Good oral and written communication abilities and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • The ability to work within a high-volume, fast-paced setting is beneficial with strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills preferred.
