K-State Olathe (https://olathe.k-state.edu/) seeks an Accountant- Financial Services to perform core accounting and bookkeeping functions for K-State Olathe, including payables, receivables, reconciliations, contract tracking, reporting, and budget support while ensuring funds are monitored accurately, transactions comply with policy, and campus financial operations run smoothly.

This position performs professional accounting and administrative work in support of the fiscal operations of the K-State Olathe campus. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling multiple bank accounts, administering contract and vendor documentation, supporting audits and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. The role also serves as a key resource to campus partners by providing budget and expense reporting, guidance on fiscal processes, and administrative support needed to promote efficient operations and campus success.

Worksite Description

This position is Hybrid eligible. This position is hybrid eligible; however, we require the first 90 days to be 100% on-site to allow for training and onboarding. After that period, hybrid eligibility will be discussed with the supervisor. It is important to note that when audits or other duties require in-person attendance, this position requires a commitment to being in the office.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• A high school diploma (or equivalent)
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience
• Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting software tools
• Knowledge of general accounting principles. General understanding of Not-For-Profit policies and procedures preferred
• Experience working with purchase orders and invoice processing, account management, and spreadsheet reconciliation
• Strong organizational skills, working independently, and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and accountability
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and meet deadlines
• Commitment to working as part of a team and contributing to a positive team atmosphere
