About This Role

The Division of Financial Services seeks a detail-oriented teammate for the role of Accounting Coordinator within the Administrative Support Center – Financial Operations team.

This position is responsible for executing timely, accurate and compliant accounting transactions, managing funds, and supporting budgeting for multiple administrative units. The Coordinator will be in direct communication with department administrators to support travel and other expenses, deposit revenue, and provide useful routine and ad-hoc reports, financial data, budget updates, procurement guidance, and grant compliance. The successful Coordinator will establish strong working relationships with unit personnel and will provide outstanding customer service to meet their units' business needs.

Worksite Description

This position is Hybrid eligible, however, we require the first 90 days to be 100% on-site. With successful performance the Coordinator role then shifts to a standardized 50% on-site schedule.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience.
  • Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background or experience in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, with an interest in supporting a collaborative team.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay on track in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable using computers and business software, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Customer-focused and team-oriented, with a commitment to providing responsive service and working effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Dependable and detail-oriented, with a high level of accountability and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and quality--especially when managing multiple priorities.
