About This Role

The Associate Director of College and External Recruitment serves as the university's primary coordinator of recruitment activities conducted outside the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA), building strong partnerships with academic colleges, the K-State Alumni Association, Extension personnel, and other campus stakeholders. This position is responsible for aligning college-based recruitment strategies with institutional enrollment goals, ensuring a coordinated and student-centered approach to engaging prospective and admitted students. Through collaboration, training, strategic planning, and data-informed decision making, the Associate Director helps create a seamless recruitment experience that strengthens enrollment outcomes across the university.  

Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Associate Director is a critical member of the ORA leadership team and plays a key role in advancing the university's enrollment strategy. This position provides leadership and oversight for external recruitment partnerships, supervises professional staff, and serves as a strategic advisor on recruitment initiatives that extend beyond the central admissions function. The successful candidate will foster collaboration across colleges and university partners, champion innovation and best practices in student recruitment, and help ensure that all recruitment efforts support Kansas State University's mission, enrollment priorities, and commitment to student success

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) 
  • Nine years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree 
  • 5 years of relevant experience in higher education recruitment and admissions, student affairs
  • other relevant educational experiences

Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
