About This Role

This position is responsible for preparing the annual budget and providing detailed reporting on the budget during the fiscal year. Oversight of financial and human resource functions including financial transactions, procurement, accounting systems, payroll, hiring, benefits, etc. to ensure compliance with university policies, provide financial reporting and insights, manage staff, and collaborate with leadership to align business operations with college objectives. This position will analyze, plan, develop, and present practices to effectively improve efficiencies in the college business functions and integrate with university practices and systems. This position also provides guidance to the business operations of three departments. The officer will work closely with the university’s budget office, the division of human resources and the division of financial services to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, human resource management, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of higher education financial, human resources, and budget systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in accounting and human resources for higher education.
  • Ability to evaluate, maintain and implement technology solutions to business processes.
  • Ability to plan, analyze details, develop and formulate recommendations.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound independent decisions.
  • Commitment to cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Supervisory experience. 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to become a Notary

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
