About This Role:

Come work with us!  Join our dynamic K-State dining team as a full-time custodial specialist in a recently renovated residence hall dining center. Be part of the excitement of serving student residents and guests as you maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of a large dining facility, completing cleaning tasks and training others in the execution of cleaning and ware washing.  Work shifts are generally 12 noon – 9 pm (40 hours per week) and include one Saturday OR Sunday (one day only) every other weekend. A day off will be scheduled either before or after the weekend day. 

Duties include:

  • Perform cleaning tasks in a large residence hall dining center. 
  • Operate various cleaning, sanitation and ware washing equipment.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing service ware.
  • Following food safety, storage and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with others.
  • Training and demonstrating sanitation and ware washing techniques to others.

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • None
  • Various training and/or certification may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of custodial experience
  • Knowledge of large scale food operation including sanitation procedures, equipment and methods used in custodial work
  • Knowledge of food service regulations
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and train others in proper cleaning and sanitation procedures and operation of equipment
  • Trustworthiness and dependability at a level to ensure the security of facility
  • Ability to work scheduled work shifts including rotating week-end shifts

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$15.00 per hour plus $.60 per hour shift differential for qualifying shifts.
