About This Role

The Director of Purchasing and Contract Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and oversight of procurement functions within the university. This role encompasses the planning, implementation, and evaluation of procurement operations in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while promoting efficiency and effectiveness in purchasing practices. The Director will work collaboratively across departments to enhance the university's procurement infrastructure, foster supplier diversity, and support the professional development of staff.

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and five to 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in procurement, contract management, and strategic planning.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal procurement laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
