The editor will collaborate with authors, designers, and publishing team staff to edit, revise, and produce a wide variety of professional documents including research reports and other educational materials. The successful candidate will edit and produce publications targeting both scientific and general audiences. Provides strategic communications, marketing and brand management leadership for the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University.
• Proofread and edit a wide range of content, including research reports, educational materials, and other written material to ensure it is grammatically correct, free of errors, and is consistent with style and tone.
• Approach projects from a digital delivery perspective to maximize end-user access and subsequent content use. Responsible for quality control, production, and distribution of materials with respect to timelines and budgets. Work with printers to ensure delivery of properly built design files.
• Consult with clients on project expectations to reach intended audiences and create desired impact. Communicate to ensure projects meet client specifications.
• Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing, and publishing for both digital and traditional formats, which may include technological enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Degree in English, journalism, or related field
• Three years of editing experience
• Knowledge of or experience with production agriculture
• Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail to excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, or similar software
