About This Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide data warehouse and data analytics development in support of K-State’s strategic efforts, including enrollment management, online learning, accreditation and compliance, and other emergent areas of need. This position will also assist in the design, development and implementation of dimensional models, or other data structures as needed for the enterprise data warehouse (EDW). This is an exciting time to join our team. The position provides capacity to strengthen the user service capacity for BI tool/dashboards, data requests, as well as some external surveys.

Worksite Description

This position is Hybrid eligible. This role is expected to work on-site approximately three (3) days a week.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and seven years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Deep knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of databases, data mining, and/or data warehousing systems
  • Knowledge of database modeling techniques such as star schema, snowflake schema, 3NF, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users across campus, translate business requirements and carry out the full cycle of BI development
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with Snowflake or other cloud based data warehouse environment
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/Dashboard creation tools
  • Experience in higher education setting
  • Data retrieval and analytical skills
  • Experience with SAS, R, Python, or other data analysis tools
