About This Role

The K-State Johnson Cancer Research Center (JCRC) at Kansas State University invites applications for a part-time, benefits eligible, term position of Event Coordinator. This position is contingent on the continuing availability of funding and the need for these services. The Event Coordinator will report to the JCRC Director. The successful applicant will develop, plan, manage and implement JCRC events and fundraisers including but not limited to socials, banquets, golf tournaments and races and office assistance.

About Us

The K-State Johnson Cancer Research Center is a center within the College of Arts and Sciences and provides an administrative hub for ~70 faculty cancer research laboratories. As a non-profit, the Center uses donations to provide cancer research awards to faculty and students.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with strong project management skills and abilities
• Excellent written (Microsoft Word), oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently productively and with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people in various circumstances including periods of high stress
• Experience with standard office and website technology including Quicken, K-State’s HRIS, EFORMS, etc.
• General event planning
• General office equipment knowledge (e.g., copiers, faxes, multi-line phone, scanners)

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
