About This Role

The College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) is seeking an HR Representative to join their team in the Dean’s Office. This position will support HHS by managing the day-to-day HR functions, including onboarding, payroll, position management, personnel file management, and appointment paperwork. The HR Representative will also provide support for recruitment through overseeing extended offers in PageUp and guiding offered candidates through the electronic acceptance process. This position reports to the HR Analyst.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the onboarding of new faculty and staff hires
  • Monitor the HHS HR email account – resolve issues and answer questions as they come in, and determine when they need to be elevated to HR Analyst
  • Coordinate performance review process to include explaining the process to supervisors, developing and implementing communication schedule for supervisors to ensure deadlines are followed, collecting yearly performance reviews from supervisors, and submitting USS reviews to Central HR
  • Manage FMLA for assigned school, including tracking leave, maintaining FMLA spreadsheets, and communicating with employees and supervisors
  • Assist HR Analyst in the management of active recruitments in PageUp, including updating applicant statuses, scheduling interviews for search committees, and initiating reference checks
  • Fill in for HR Analyst as needed, including entering PDs in PageUp, answering questions and providing guidance to search committee chairs, and drafting offer letters and contracts for HR Analyst review
  • Serve as point of contact for payroll/time and leave related questions for all employees in assigned school
  • Provide hiring and position management support to the HR team as needed and during times of high volume for student and graduate appointments
  • Liaise with Central HR regarding HR-related issues and find solutions
  • Provide guidance to HHS employees on policies and processes

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, human resources management, or related field
  • Experience with HRIS
  • Experience with PageUp or other ATS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience with data entry
