About This Role

This position will assist with the management of the Universal Time and Leave System, FMLA, and university leave programs. Additionally, this position serves as the liaison between the Benefits and Time and Leave teams by striving to implement system improvements and supporting the time and leave and FMLA administration. This position will assist with other current HR initiatives as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the universal timekeeping system.
  • Serve a the system support specialist in ADP Workforce Manager.
  • Provides front-line support to timekeepers and department/units across the organization, resolving system and pay issues as appropriate.
  • Assist with the verification of data reports in ADP Workforce Manager for the Payroll Department, ensuring the file is complete, formatted correctly, and processed within the timeframe needed to complete payroll.
  • Coordinate with departments when timesheets will be locked so that the time file can be submitted to the Time and Leave Manager for processing and approval.
  • Troubleshoot any errors or system-related issues.
  • Work with Time and Leave Manager and others to investigate and resolve issues within the system. Participate in ADP training to advance system knowledge and improve system functionality.
  • Assist with the FMLA leave administration process from the initial notice of leave to the employee's return to work, focusing efforts on straightforward cases such as birth and bonding.
  • Assist in tracking legal leave hours used/taken, including FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and other University leave programs in ADP Workforce Manager, alerting the FMLA and Leave Specialist when leave taken does not match the leave approved.
  • Monitor return-to-work dates and assist FMLA and Leave Specialist with this process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers' compensation, or other leave(s), including tracking return-to-work dates and collaborating with departments on employee expected return dates.
  • Responsible for uploading leave documentation to employee's digital file.
  • Review and research relevant FMLA case data, compiling information for reporting and analytics.
  • Interpret and understand the leave programs offered by the State of Kansas and Kansas State University.
  • Assist in the development of updated processes in correlation with a new University timekeeping system and leave benefits.

This position is Hybrid and/or Remote eligible.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and three years of relevant experience.
    Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skill
  • Ability to determine priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work independently
  • Willingness to learn new software, develop additional skills, and engage in professional
    development
  • Ability to exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality
  • Demonstrated background or knowledge of human resource processes and policies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
