This position directs the financial, operational, and personnel activities for Campus landscape services, and provides leadership and supervision to build a collaborative, proactive and responsive team in all aspects of landscape services to help foster an outdoor environment that is clean, green, and weed free, in support of the Institutional mission.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience. Experience may be substituted for education as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in horticulture or a related field and/or Certification as a Certified Grounds Manager (CGM) though the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
  • Certification as a Certified Grounds Manager (CGM) though the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
  • Landscape Services experience at a large institution/ organization at a skilled level, responsible for planning, coordinating and managing Landscape Services operations.
  • Recognized as a master gardener.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of proper grounds practices in the management of turf, trees, irrigation shrubs.
  • Knowledge of chemical in application of insecticide and fertilizer and herbicide.
  • Knowledge of the general practices applied in the care and safe operation of a wide variety of light to heavy outdoor power and maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard safety practices.

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license by the time of hire and maintain the license throughout employment.
  • Obtain Commercial Pesticide Application Certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Back flow Certification must be completed within the first year of employment.
  • Experience using MS Office, including Outlook and Excel.

$61,591.00 to $76,964.00
