The individual plays a critical role in proactively developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure long-term equipment reliability and resource optimization. Limited oversight is required, as the role demands initiative, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires one year of relevant experience.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by a hiring manager.
  • This position is covered by the KSU Local 6400 Agreement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, occupational hazards, standard safety practices as required by OSHA, and materials related to building and mechanical trades.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of applied electronics.
  • Knowledge of calibration, repair, maintenance, and operation of electronic equipment devices.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic and electrical, specifications, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Ability to analyze wiring diagrams. Prior to entry, the ability to use standard electronic test equipment and bench tools if necessary.
  • Certification in Electrical Equipment Repair.

Other Requirements:

  • Various training and/or certification may be required; the University will provide certification training.
  • Have and maintain valid State of Kansas driver's license.
  • Competent in the use of computer software, to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and CMMS such as AIM.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • All candidates must be 18 years of age.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
