The office specialist II position provides direct administrative assistance to the Heartland AI Symposium (HAIS) director (and as time is available, other HAIS committee members). In particular acting as a one-stop administrative contact and administrative problem solver for the director.
This position performs a variety of routine customer service, clerical and administrative duties according to established procedures. Works collaboratively with department staff to manage office duties and support senior staff in the accomplishment of their duties. Typical duties include processing payment vouchers, timesheets, logistical planning of events, or arranging travel. This position works under supervision but may be required to provide guidance and train others as needed.

This position is Hybrid and/or Remote eligible.
Applicants in the Manhattan, KS area may be asked to come to campus or interact with local businesses and organizations in person.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Requires one year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Strong oral and written skills in English
· Ability to work independently and in a team
· Ability to adapt to and use new technological systems within an ethical framework
· Two years of post-high education
· One year of administrative experience
· Experience with website content management
