About This Role

The Program Assistant works with Assistant Directors to serve students of the University and is accountable for assisting with events, programs, and projects related to all aspects of career development and employment services.
Program Management: Coordinate the room reservations for on-campus interviews with employers and students, and the next day interviews following career fairs.

Project Management: Coordinate post-graduation collection efforts for university-wide reporting. The process includes: emailing students/graduates, searching social media, contacting faculty, and following through other data collection strategies. Enter data and run reports based on the project timeline.


Office Operations: Provide constituents with quality customer service when they are requesting information related to the Career Center or university programs/services. Submit and manage college specific presentations in the online system to help with assessing services or trends.


Administrative Support: Monitor and accept scheduled student advising appointments through the online scheduling system for career advisors. Assist staff with logistics or other support needed for scheduled meetings and presentations. Coordinate materials for scheduled presentations.

The Career Center offers an extensive career library, free assessments for exploring majors/careers, job search training, career advising, employer connections, and a staff dedicated to assisting students in the career development process.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and one year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College or vocation technical school graduate preferred
  • Three years administrative support or program/Project management
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills for meeting the needs of a diverse student population
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is extremely helpful
