About This Role

The Research Intelligence Developer will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data solutions that empower various stakeholders and leadership in the Kansas State University, Office of the Vice President of Research with actionable insights.  This role involves collaborating with multiple teams within the OVPR to understand their information needs, translating those needs into technical specifications, and building data pipelines and reporting dashboards that facilitate data-driven discovery and decision-making.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Information Management, or another computational field.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Information Management, or another computational field requiring significant coursework or experience in software design and development.
  • Experience working at an institution of higher education.
  • Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages like Python, M Power Query, DAX, SQL, and ability to learn new languages as needed.
  • Experience with data modeling, DAX calculations, and report design in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with ETL processes, tools and development languages to connect to various data sources.
  • Knowledge of data serialization formats like JSON, XML, CSV, YAML, and experience with data transformation techniques and tools.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license upon employment.
  • Ability to receive a favorable background check from KSU.
