About This Role

This position coordinates activities and resources associated with the transition for transfer, military affiliated, and non-traditional students to Kansas State University. One initiative of this position is overseeing the dual advising program which creates a structure between identified K-State degree programs and partner community colleges. The person in this position will coordinate communication and promotion of resources to streamline the transition to K-State, serve as liaison between K-State and community college advisors who are involved in the dual advising program, serve as the liaison between K-State academic colleges, student services, and leadership, and provide academic advising support to potential transfer students pursuing specific colleges/programs admission and course enrollment. This role will also work closely within the K-State community to provide guidance, communication, promotional information, consultation, and assistance to key partners such as Student Financial Assistance, Student Success, Housing and Dining Services, academic colleges, and the K-State Alumni Association. In addition, this position will coordinate volunteer efforts of alumni, parent/family, current students, faculty, and staff to assist in recruitment strategy.

Worksite Description

This position is Hybrid eligible.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Admissions, Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Adult and Continuing Education, College Student Development, or Counseling
    and Student Development
  • Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity with the needs of transfer, military affiliated, and/or nontraditional students.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment. 
  • Strong social and communication skills
  • Possess a high level of energy and able to work under strict deadlines. Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and multiple computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, customer relationship manager software) and efficient use of e-mail.
  • Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency is helpful.
