About This Role

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at Kansas State University is seeking its next creative and talented video production specialist. The video production specialist is responsible for producing and distributing videos and digital materials in an effort to market the college to prospective students and other external stakeholders. These materials may be shared on platforms such as websites, email and social media marketing that promote and advance college programs and projects. This position serves as a video producer, videographer and video editor in a variety of marketing, promotional and informative videos for the college, and manages media assets and archiving. As part of the Engineering Communications and Marketing team, this position also collaborates with others in the college and university to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages and the highest standards for external communications.
A successful video production specialist will:
• Produce, record and edit recruitment and marketing videos for distribution on social media, web, email and digital signage.
• Collaborate with the Division of Communications and Marketing’s video team to achieve brand consistency.
• Maintain and operate video, audio and lighting equipment.
• Participate in social media planning, and create and schedule content across college social media platforms.
• Assist with College of Engineering website content editing following university branding, digital accessibility and website guidelines using a content management system.
• Manage digital sign requests.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years’ experience in video production (can include education).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop).
  • Experience with camera, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Experience with social media marketing.
  • Exposure to proofing, editing and design of marketing materials.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent aesthetic judgment.
  • Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
