The Department of Finance in the Kansas State University College of Business is seeking applications for a non-tenure track, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance anticipated to start August 2026 with a one-year appointment. The candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching and service activities in the College of Business, with resources available to continue their research activities.
Teaching: The desired area of teaching expertise is investments. The individual selected will teach investment courses as a regular part of their teaching assignment anticipated to be two sections in the fall semester and two sections in the spring semester. In addition, the individual should be able to teach in a supplementary area such as corporate finance or financial modeling.
Service: The individual selected will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to collegiality and shared governance. As a part of this role, the individual will undertake service for the benefit of the department or college, such as advising a student organization, participating in academic events, engaging with students, and/or serving on departmental or college committees as needed.
Research: While the primary focus is instructional, the College provides a supportive environment for scholarly activity to publish in high-quality academic journals in finance or other related areas. The College maintains subscriptions to several major databases through the WRDS platform.
