About This Role:

The Director for Graduate Recruitment is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract top-tier graduate students to the university. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders within the university community and beyond to promote the university's graduate programs, enhance its reputation, and increase enrollment.

The Director will work closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to lead the implementation and evaluation of the entire recruitment function for the university and identify and adjust strategies and procedures to enhance recruitment results across all units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, refine, and implement comprehensive graduate recruitment strategies aligned with the university's goals and objectives to attract a diverse pool of high-caliber graduate students working collaboratively with both administrative and academic departments as well as leadership to ensure optimal enrollment. 
  • Work in collaboration with Deans, Department Chairs, and Program Directors to develop and implement innovative recruitment and yield strategies for graduate students. 
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners to promote graduate programs and foster collaboration opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate recruitment events such as open houses, information sessions, and recruitment fairs to engage prospective students and provide them with information about the university's graduate offerings.
  • Establish and assesses recruitment and admissions strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to recruitment staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. 
  • Assess and assist in developing needed technologies to increase service to students and efficiencies in processes.
  • Provide training to faculty, staff, and student advocates on recruitment best practices, including the use of technology for virtual outreach.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or a related area in higher education.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful recruitment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment trends, best practices, and strategies for reaching diverse student populations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other recruitment technologies.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements in higher education recruitment.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Office environment with occasional travel for recruitment events and conferences.
  • Some evening and weekend work required to accommodate recruitment events and prospective student needs.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$95,903-$115,903 annually
