The Extension Nutrition Program, within K-State Research and Extension, is currently seeking a full-time Nutrition Educator. The Nutrition Educator serves to meet the Kansas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) mission of empowering limited-resource Kansans using evidence-based strategies to achieve healthy lives and reduce health disparities. Specific strategies include direct education in various settings; community-based projects to address policy, system or environmental changes; and public health approaches to help children, families and adults improve dietary quality and food resource management skills and increase physical activity. This position will serve northeastern Kansas and be based in Marysville, KS.
Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III – Small Animal Surgery Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in the role, the primary responsibilities are to assist in providing quality veterinary patient care and help with procedures for client, teaching, and research animals within the VHC. Nurses in this position play a vital role in providing support for busy surgery schedules, assisting with educational opportunities, and contributing to meaningful research. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a rotating emergency on-call schedule.

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team to provide exemplary patient care. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support for the surgery team in caring for client, teaching, and research animals in the VHC. Sunflower District Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Extension agents are professional educators, community connectors and innovators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. The Sunflower Extension District consists of Cheyenne, Sherman, and Wallace counties in northwest Kansas. Three agents, three office professionals, and a multi-county agronomist serve the district’s combined population of just over 10,000 people.This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming topics may include but are not limited to: livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.

Fellow (Post Doc) Colby, Kansas On-site requirement
The full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate will be an integral part of the Northwest Agronomy team at the Kansas State University Northwest Research-Extension Center, Colby, Kansas. This individual will have leadership responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of multiple research projects that are focused on improving nitrogen use efficiency in dryland cropping systems and reducing nitrogen losses to N2O greenhouse gas emissions and NH3 volatilization. These projects are part of a DOE supported SmartFarm project and a FFAR AgMission project. This individual will take a lead role in the analysis and publication of data resulting from the many aspects of these projects while also being involved in field operations. In addition, the individual will have the opportunity to become involved with a diverse set of projects that include corn, sorghum, wheat, dry beans/pulses, cotton, and other crops in the context of dryland and limited irrigation production systems. Opportunities for involvement could include field operations and data collection, data processing and analysis, publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts, and grant submissions.

Will determine participant eligibility for research studies through screenings. The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc). This position is for a Post-Doctoral fellow to conduct independent research as part of a newly established research team at K-State (Souza-Neto Lab). This position focuses primarily on studying the interplay between host/vector-virus-microbiome in agricultural and zoonotic arboviruses. The selected candidate will engage in research activities encompassing a wide repertoire of modern technologies including WGS, RNA-seq, 16S microbiomics, gene silencing and genome editing to identify target genes and microbes important for virus infection/transmission that could be further used to the development of countermeasure tools to such diseases. This position is part of multidisciplinary and collaborative activities that will require engagement with collaborators within and outside the college, including USDA, and requires dedication to activities related to insect vectors (mosquito) rearing and manipulation, and eventual support to animal. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral, host and vector research with direct guidance from the Principal Investigator.
