Academic IT Director Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Academic IT Director develops and directs the implementation of strategic information technology plans for the College of Agriculture. The incumbent manages and mentors IT personnel resources (including full-time IT professionals or technicians, part-time hourly and graduate student employees) and provides leadership for all college technical systems, data systems and college/departmental applications. This position is responsible for ensuring the college’s technical operations and security posture are aligned and comply with IT policies, procedures and standards set forth by the state, university and the college. We seek an enthusiastic colleague to help lead an experiment co-designed by The Nature Conservancy and researchers at Kansas State University. The experiment will assess the effectiveness of “virtual fence” technology to control cattle grazing locations with the aim of improving conditions for grassland birds, and improving stream health including water quality, stream macroinvertebrates, and streamside vegetation.
