About This Role

The Department of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University seeks a dedicated, student-centered Academic Advisor to support the undergraduate programs in the department. This role involves guiding students in course selection, academic planning, and career development while fostering self-understanding and personal agency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a sincere commitment to student success. The position will also support existing technology transfer, training, conference, and outreach programs in the department. As such, the ideal candidate will also have demonstrated experience with event and or conference planning and organization.

Worksite Option

This position is on-site.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of relevant experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or other advanced degree
  • Experience with academic advising in higher education
  • Experience with event planning
  • Strong commitment to student success
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting 

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
