The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/dmp/residency/residency.html) at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine (KSU CVM) supports a residency program in veterinary anatomic pathology. Two positions are available starting between June 1 and August 1, 2026. We are seeking highly motivated, hard-working, and dependable individuals with a DVM or equivalent degree and dedication to pursuing a career in veterinary anatomic pathology. This is a full-time position with annual contact renewal for up to 3 years with adequate performance.
The successful candidates will join our team of nine board certified veterinary anatomic pathologists and five anatomic pathology resident trainees in the Kansas Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KVDL) and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (DMP). Goals of the residency program are to prepare trainees for a career as a veterinary anatomic pathologist via a solid understanding of the pathologic basis of disease, experience in diagnostic skills including necropsy, biopsy, and mail-in case management, and teaching of 2nd and 4th year DVM students (labs and diagnostic rotation). These experiences are also intended to prepare trainees for successful completion of Phases 1 and 2 of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) certification examination.
