About This Role

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University, invites applications for a part-time clinical, renewable appointment, Assistant Professor in Clinical Skills and Applied Surgery. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain a veterinary license in the state of Kansas. Internship training or three years of experience in veterinary practice is required. The successful candidate will join a well-supported clinical skills and surgery team. This position will work collaboratively with faculty and staff in the Clinical Skills and Surgery section to further the clinical skills and surgery training and assessment of K-State veterinary students. Specific duties include assisting with laboratory exercises, supervising and assessing student performance, and contributing to hands-on portions of Clinical Skills and Applied Surgery Courses and curriculum development. Instructional activities will encompass skills and scenarios relevant to small animal and large animal practice, with emphasis on core competencies applicable to the four principal species. This position may also contribute to professional student mentoring through formal curricular assignments and student-interest certificates and clubs.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DVM (or equivalent) degree

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
