The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University invites applications for an assistant, associate, or full professor (clinical or tenure track) in Equine Internal Medicine. Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree. Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine is preferred, would consider board-eligible candidates. Candidates with other advanced academic qualifications are encouraged to apply. The qualified person will join the dedicated team of equine medicine, surgery, field service, reproduction and large animal emergency medicine. In addition, each of the service areas have great support staff to fulfill the mission of quality patient care, exceptional customer service and superior veterinary medical education.
The successful candidate must provide clinical and didactic instruction in equine internal medicine for veterinary students, interns, and residents. In addition, they must maintain a high-quality equine clinical service with a demonstrated commitment to building caseload and providing exceptional service and client communication. The clinical service will focus primarily on daytime duties as the large animal emergency team will cover a majority of after-hours calls. Candidates could participate in research and scholarship leading to publications that are relevant to equine internal medicine, if Tenure Track is determined. The balance of clinical, teaching, and research components in the appointment are negotiable depending on the professional goals of the candidate and the needs of the DCS/VHC.
