About This Role

The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant in the Virology Laboratory. The duties of this position include performing tests on various analytes such as serum, fetal fluid, and tissues using Serum Neutralization (SN), Hemagglutination Inhibition (HI), Virus Isolation, Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Immunoflourscence Assay (IFA) or other tests to detect titers, abnormalities, or disease and enter findings into current Laboratory Information Management System. Set up, adjust, maintain and clean laboratory equipment and maintain the quality system through document reviews, trend analysis for all tests as well as corrective action reports and ensuring the quality of test results.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Virology, Microbiology or related field
  • At least two years of laboratory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
